In support of the nation's industrialisation and chemical expansion objectives, ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) and TA'ZIZ have inked a 50-year strategic agreement to build the United Arab Emirates' first dedicated chemicals port. This port will be located in the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone in Al Ruwais.
Notably, ADNOC L&S will construct, own, and run the $300 million port as part of the arrangement, and TA'ZIZ will effectively export chemicals and derivatives using the facility.
Over the first 27 years, the port is estimated to bring in over $1.3 billion for ADNOC L&S, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Port Infrastructure: Features & Capacity
The port will accommodate TA'ZIZ's expanding chemical production capacity and offer three berths—two liquid and one dry—as well as shore-to-ship power connections to the nearby renewable energy system.
Methanol, low-carbon ammonia, caustic soda, ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monomer, and polyvinyl chloride are among the chemicals that TA'ZIZ anticipates producing at a rate of 4.7 million tonnes annually by 2028.
The Maritime Safety Courses in London will teach you about “chemicals port,” which entails knowing chemicals and their handling, storage, transportation, safety regulations, environmental impact, sustainable practices, and port security measures for reducing risks and occurrences.

Partnership for Scalability & Efficiency
ADNOC L&S CEO Abdulkareem Al Masabi stated, “This strategic agreement for the first-of-its-kind dedicated chemicals port will provide ADNOC L&S with long-term, predictable revenue while supporting TA'ZIZ's growing chemicals ecosystem. The project demonstrates our ability to expand into high-growth sectors and deliver sustainable value for shareholders while advancing the UAE's industrial growth.”
Furthermore, CEO of TA'ZIZ, Mashal Al-Kindi, commented, “With TA'ZIZ strategically located close to fast-growth markets in Asia and Africa, this dedicated chemicals port will enable us to export our products efficiently and at scale, supporting the UAE's ambition to establish a world-scale chemicals industry.”
He added, “Partnering with ADNOC L&S on this important project will ensure the port is built, operated and scaled to enable reliable logistics services and revenue for TA'ZIZ.”
